Dr Mody invited to teach Orthopaedic surgeons of North India
One of the fundamental ways in which a society ensures that coming generations of its members have a high quality of healthcare delivered is by ensuring that the existing generation of doctors taken on the responsibility of teaching the next generation of doctors. This is especially true in the surgical specialities wherein newer technologies and techniques are evolving rapidly. Allocating time for teaching takes away that much from the business hours of a successful and senior doctor teaching in India is not a remunerative activity yet. This is the reason where a lot of highly knowledgeable senior doctors do not take part in this area of work.
Dr Mody has always considered it to be his duty, and indeed responsibility to discharge the role of a teacher for the present and next generation of surgeons of India. He was invited at Elite Arthroplasty Course in Chandigarh organized by the Max Group of Hospitals where close to 550 surgeons of north India had come to learn from key opinion leaders of our country. The conference had national and international experts offering their teachings. Dr. Mody quizzed the panel and the audience on the futuristic technologies which have made their appearance in the field of joint replacement surgery.
